Hello my friends. I do trust this finds you well – if cold! Thanks so much to you all for visiting last week and leaving such lovely comments. I read them all and appreciate the time and effort you take on my behalf. So, to the reason we are here today… my desk!

I am really sorry – I have NO idea what exactly I have done his afternoon – but I can’t change the type size!!! I do hope you can read this!

Yes – a bit of tidying has gone on this week. Both the old towers are now tucked into the corner, and can be accessed when I need to work on them. I look forward to the day when they can go and I can bring my Gemini machine through to use there. Having given myself a little more room I have done a load of stamp sorting – getting rid of ones I no longer use, putting them out to pass on – whenever I can be in touch with others!! But then I decided to just have a bit of fun – and played with some brushos.

SONY DSC

I haven’t done a lot – but will add a sentiment, some background paper behind or some such, and make some cards. I rather enjoyed spraying the water at different angles, just to see what happened… and then discovered

Yes. The sheet I was using to stand the watercolour paper on was quite effective too! I rather like this one – no idea what, if anything, I shall do with it – but it is rather fun.

I realized this morning I never showed you the knitting I had finally finished – the jumper knitted in the round from the neck down. The answer to the questions the other week is… no, I don’t like it any more now it is complete. Oh well…

Julia sent me a couple of jigsaws the other week. Her comment was “They are fiendishly difficult”. Well, I won’t disagree with that!!! If anyone wants to attempt it… send me an email and I will post it on – preferably only to a British address – sorry!

Out walking this morning I discovered that 30feet above sealevel and there was snow still on the ground after a shower yesterday, and that the standing water in the field opposite was frozen! Should have been wearing a hat, really, but goodness – it was exhilarating! And the hot chocolate when I got home was even better…

So, that’s it from me this week here on the North Wales coast. Do take care. Stay safe. God bless you all.

  1. Morning Margaret, I went to work double hatted yesterday – a woolly hat AND the hood on my coat up! that jigsaw does look – er- tricky! well done. the jumper looks warm and cosy. Glad the desk is sorted and love the brusho spray off background! Helen #2

  2. Such a busy and full post! I like the jumper but would have lost patience with it before I got to the end of the yoke. Lovely knitting. And oh yes, the “mop up” sheet from under your Brushos is wonderful . The space looks custom made for a photo, but maybe tear it up as the start of a master board?

Whatever you do, it’ll be fun. Stay warm!

  3. Those Brusho backgrounds look good Margaret and I am sure you will find a use for the mop up sheet too. Stay warm. I have barely ventured out in the last week except the dash to the shed from the house. Stay safe Sarah #5

  4. Yes, mop ups often are useful and the best in so many cases with me. Lovely jumper can see you wearing that – in my mind’s eye of course.
Don’t know what went wrong with my original post (3) it missed most of it off)
    Hugs, Neet 6 xx

  5. Snow on the ground well, really, quite amazing if bracing, like me this arvo went out rather under-prepared for the heavy rain that fell, had raincoat on but not full length and brolly would’ve been a help, however not as bracing as you. Praying with you for our dear Shaz.
Your desk looks great and yes agree re OTT colours on base brushos sheet, maybe that’s the way to go ??
Hopefully reorganisation will allow Gemini in there too, my cutting machines are on bookcase right near my desk, about less than two feet behind desk. Works a treat.
Thanks for Sharing, God bless and keep you safe, and all those you love, hugs Shaz in Oz.x

  6. You can’t beat a bit of faffing around. It’s good to just play.
We live 1000 feet above sea level , so the wandering welder likes to tell everyone, so the need for a hat is great up here haha. So is that lovely jumper.
    Take care

  7. I wont’ take you up on the offer of the jigsaw, thank you! I have been passed on about 6 from a friend and they’ll take me a while to get through. The jumper is really lovely, reminds me of a church window with its tracery, it was worth completing. I’m glad you enjoyed your walk, it’s blooming freezing here too though no snow…yet!
Will let you know about Shaz as and when I hear.

  8. Now that really does look like a tricky jigsaw. Bet it took ages. I love what you’ve been playing with this week. I bet your fingers looked really pretty too when you’d finished.
Stay warm and safe my friend,
    Hugs,

  9. Hi Margaret! Well according to my OH the one I bought him is also ‘fiendishly difficult’, he won’t give up but I don’t think he is very pleased with me. Sorry you don’t like the jumper – it looks very pretty but Iguess that’s the way it goes sometimes. I liked the little pins in your brushos (confess I had to really stare to work that out). Had a set of 12 for Christmas I still haven’t got out the box. Where do the days go? Stay well, stay safe, love n hugs Cindy xx #21

  10. Oh I do LOVE that jumper! You haven’t said why you don’t like it but I think it looks really smart. Rather you than me with those puzzles. I’m a strictly a “high contrast only” puzzler. Definitely hugs all around today, Lisa-Jane #10

  11. Love the jigsaw with all those windows bet it was tricky. Never really had success with knitting with circular needles, I am still plodding away with my jumper. Ani #16

  12. Brushos! Now there’s a blast from the past! I might just sort mine out….
Love the jumper…. I am knitting cardies (for our local prem unit) from the neck down. I love the idea but I don’t think I could knit a grown up jumper, especially with all that pattern… You’re very clever.
Have a prayerful week, stay safe and warm
    God bless
    Christine #11

  13. I can understand you not liking the jumper. In the round ones sit/look a bit funny. I remember the one time my Mum made one and she hated that one too…

    Keep well – sending hugs!

  14. Hi Margaret, another busy week by the sound of it! I love the Brusho’s paper – often the mop up papers are the best I find. The jumper looks very pretty and I’m wondering why aren’t you keen on it – it certainly looks warm and cosy. Well I wouldn’t have attempted that jigsaw, too many brown windows for me – I only do the bright ones – lots of colours and pattern!
Hope you have a good week, stay safe, well and cosy,
    Diana xx #21

  15. hi Margaret, glad you enjoyed your cold walk! That jumper is lovely. What don’t you like about it? It looks beautifully knitted.
    Take care, and happy WOYWW

  16. It seems you’re in the minority regarding your jumper! I think it’s lovely. I don’t take part in the Big Bird Watch for the very reason you say – the birds seem to know they’re being watched and go all shy.

  17. “fiendishly difficult” is just how I described my latest puzzle LOL! But when you beat it, it’s so exhilarating! Well done and lovely powder play – I like those little pins in your brushoes- great idea! I punched some holes in mine but haven’t used them in a couple of years – I bet the moisture from the air got to them – will have to check! Nice seeing you again Margaret – your account of your breezy walk followed by hot chocolate makes me want to go outside! Or maybe I’ll skip the walk and go straight to the hot chocolate part LOL! Of course, I know it doesn’t work that way! Have a lovely week! xx zsuzsa#24

  18. I love the puzzle and the colour of your jumper, but can understand about the fit being a little off. The brushos are always fun to play with and the mop up sheet looks great! Happy WOYWW. Take care and stay safe. With love & God Bless, Caro xxx (#20)

  19. The backgrounds look they were fun to make, ready for a birthday sentiment maybe. The sweater turned out beautiful, I love the neckline. That puzzle does look very challenging! you did it though ~ what a pretty picture. The vision of flowers must’ve helped to keep the winter away for a little while. Enjoy your week!

  20. Margaret, it does look like you are getting on with the towers!! Your art space looks roomier, although I would want to get rid of those huge things as well! LOL Love your brushos backgrounds. I don’t have any brushos, but they do look like fun play and what a happy surprise with your under paper! I just know you will come up with something fun to use that in!! I think your jumper turned out fabulous, but I’m a hard critic on my knitting as well, so I get it! I have a sweater in my closet that took me ample time to knit, but guess what? I’ve NEVER worn it because I hate it! LOL Oh well, it was the challenge that was fun! Love the finished puzzle, I bet it was fun to do…..speaking of challenge! LOL Happy Wednesday and blessings to you! Felicia #30

  21. Beautiful Brusho background art! They kinda remind me of Ken Oliver’s Color Bursts. Love the jumper. And that puzzle does look difficult!
    Have a wonderful week!

  22. I bet that hot chocolate was good after coming in from the cold.. I have yet to play with my Brushos Looks like you had fun with yours. Have a great week Angela #12

  23. Snow at the seaside, my goodness that means it’s cold. I think exhilarating is a very polite way to describe it! Bart has even been going to work later by half an hour in an attempt to avoid (and I quote) ‘freezing my crackers off while I wait for the wood burner to warm the place up’. Brrr. I just turn over and go back to sleep till daylight! You’ve had a good time at the desk and the table, that puzzle! You were quick! I’ve got a couple more if you want them, but will photo them first, just in case they came from you way back when lockdown was new and we were young.

  24. Lovely to see you playing with Brushos, Margaret – great backgrounds, and the scratch paper one is amazing! I always keep that sort of thing, too. That is a pretty magnificent piece of knitting that looks very complicated – sorry you don’t like it after all that work! I have been feeling the same about my latest kitty square but everyone else seems to like it so perhaps it’s not so bad! As for the jigsaws, fiendish or not (and they certainly do look fiendish!) you can keep them – I’m rubbish at them!

    Happy WOYWW and God bless,
    Shoshi x #25

  25. Oh Brusho’s something else hidden in my stash, little pops of colour in a pop. love the heart shaped pins you used to make your release holes. I’m glad that jigsaw doesn’t have any missing pieces, I’m still hoping the missing piece to the other turns up for you.
Best wishes this WoywW Tracey #36

  26. Hi Margaret, Ooh I love the splatter catching page a lot too 🙂 that puzzle makes my eyes cross. I am totally impressed you finished it. ~Stacy #37

  27. Glad to see the hardware sorted somewhat and what a pickle with the software and font size, although I had not trouble reading it. I don’t do jumpers at all, far too warm for my menopausal body, but there again always found them itchy too. Ohh the surround from spraying is great isn’t it. I have lots of off cuts of that, really ought to use it – oh well one day. Thanks for the visit BJ#18

  28. Hi Margaret, I’m late this week getting round everyone as mum is in a nursing home and we had to take her some stuff yesterday as well as going for our vaccine. I saw your question and yes it was fine just have a slightly stiff arm. The dragon you saw that was white had been painted after moulding as I thought you would be able to see the detail better they are clear to begin with as I like to paint them but I do have some mica powders to colour the resin. I think you’re very brave I know I need to get rid of some old stamps but just haven’t plucked up the courage yet. Loving the little jumper it’s so sweet. Wishing you a very happy belated woyww, Angela x18x

  29. Brushos are so much fun! I love how you plugged the hole with the heart pics! I must get some of those…What a great discovery when lifting off the paper, I’m sure you will find something awesome to do with it. It seems funny that you need to find your snow, ours is right here in the yard! It does sound chilly though, and hot chocolate to warm up is the best! Thanks for your visit, have a good week, and stay safe, Lindart #32

  30. Thank you for your return visit, Margaret – glad you like the Siamese cat! Everyone else but me seems to like him but I think he’s starting to grow on me. He will take his place with the others on the blanket. So you’ve been “above the snowline” have you? Haha! We had a bit more snow this morning but again it didn’t last. I always have to photograph it because it’s such a rare event here among the palm trees. I wonder what Asda would have delivered instead of cabbage, had you still been accepting substitutes? Bananas, perhaps? Ha! I’ve heard that Asda is the worst supermarket for wacky substitutions. I should think Tesco follows as a close second. How did you manage to make your stir fry in the end – or did you have beans on toast instead!

Devastating news about poor Shaz, isn’t it. I am joining so many in prayer for her and Doug, for peace and comfort and strength at this time, and that they will come to know the Lord Jesus.

    With love and blessings,
    Shoshi x #25

  31. Oh Brushos are so fun! I have played with them but it can get messy! I like what you knitted. It’s an amazing talent! Have a great week. Dorlene #33

  32. I love Brushos!
    Happy WOYWW!
    Stay safe and keep well!
Update on here in Victoria – we are in a snap lockdown again – hopefully only for a few days – but 5k limit, no visitors or gatherings, only leave the house for the 4 special reasons, only essential shops open…
