Hello my friends. Thank you SO much for the concern shown by yourselves during my 3 week absence. I have had emails, phonecalls, plus an extra visit to my site, leaving a further comment. Thank you. Yes, I have been fine – but my poor computer almost proved terminally ill!! In the end, as I kept getting the blue screen of death!, I called in a repair man. Remember Kevin? He spent hours sorting out this new site for me. Well, fully masked up, with me in a mask as well, he came round, took the tower apart, took things out, put things in… et voila! He tells me it is SO old it is definitely doing more than creaking… but should keep me going until Christmas. (Sshh! I still use Windows 7) Guess what my present to myself this year is going to be?

So, to my desk… At 9.15 Tuesday morning, my desk was empty, neat and tidy. I know – boring, huh? I had finished making cards, making presents, wrapping and writing… so I tidied up. Then I had a request for some devotion themes for Advent from my elders… well, serves me right, really. After all, it was my idea to have some.. so, I had been praying a little about it, when first thing this morning, when I woke, suddenly, all the ideas came. Pencil, paper and Bible were rapidly brought together and an hour later, lots were scribbled down. By 9.25 this morning my desk looked like this…

Hmmm… 2 HUGE A4 folders of songs, Crudens concordance, Bible, notes from VERY early this morning, and computer at the ready. Yes, there is a change that end of the desk. I have brought the tower up from the floor. It seemed sensible having watched Kevin grovelling around under the desk last week. I am pleased to say that the devotion themes are now all with the church leaders for scrutiny and their decisions. Great sigh of relief.

I have been busy whilst not contacting yourselves… made Christmas ornaments, finished advent calendars, prepared birthday cards… but I can’t show you any of those, I’m afraid. It would spoil all the surprises. I have been knitting! Nearly finished a sweater I started earlier in the year, just the neck rib to do now, then sew in the sleeves. Jigsaws have been a good go-to during our second Welsh lockdown, and they are now winging their way around Britain for others to do. One was a crime puzzle – you got clues, 1000 pieces, but no picture to go on! I haven’t got a photo of that… why ever not? No idea. But I have also done these…

And that, my friends, is that. Just a photo of Wales for you. Taken from my landing window the other evening… Oh wow!

Take care of yourselves, and stay safe.

God bless you.

  6. That Kevin is a genius. I hope it does last till Christmas! I think three weeks away from my computer would get so much work done that if I was made of stronger stuff, I’d try it! Lovely to see your desk this morning, and to chat yesterday. I was right then, Leon and the others were loving your idea and throwing it back to you! You’re amazing. Couple of great puzzles there I just say. And hold the front page…I found a second stray piece last night, honestly, at this rate it’ll be an envelope full!!

  7. I’m so glad your computer is back up and running, I shall be keeping my fingers crossed it lasts until Christmas and beyond for you. I love the snowy jigsaw, I always like to have a festive one on the go through December, and the sunset is stunning – what a beauty.
Hope you have a good week,
    Hugs, Diana xx #21

  8. HI Margaret, good to see you. Love the sunset picture, how gorgeous! Well done on getting the PC off the floor- it’s usually Dougs number one recommendation to people. Sat on a carpet, they tend to suck in dust, fluff & fibres. Not good for them at all. He had one to look at from his SIL- looked like it had a dead rabbit inside, lol. Jigsaws are very pretty images. Have a lovely week, Stay safe, Hugs, Shaz #10 X

  9. Oh Gosh, oh Golly, I love that sunset. Wish we got sunsets like that. It is amazing. Imagine that as a jigsaw!! The mystery one sounds like a lot of hard work – maybe you were wise not to publish the finished picture if the jigsaw is doing the rounds.
I did read somewhere that your computer was down so I didn’t panic about you and was surprised to find you up and funning today – thanks to Kevin. Has he got red hair?
Take care and keep knitting & smiling
    Blessings, Neet 11 xx

  10. Windows 7? Don’t worry…. mine is still, very slowly, hanging in there on XP! No back ups or downloads for about 7seven years. You are lucky your man got it going, blue sceen usually mean it’s flat lined! He brought it back from the dead!
Lovely pictures, tidy desk! Happy WOYWW!? Stay Safe!

  11. Wow! Love it when God answers prayers like yours! Love the sunset! Such brilliant colors!
Anyway, welcome back! Glad your computer is working again.
    Have a wonderful week!

  12. Fingers crossed your old computer keeps you going until Christmas – yep, these things have to be replaced every few years as they get clunky – Windows 7 – oh my goodness! Don’t worry, using Windows 10 is not that different – it just runs better. Loving the jigsaws – when I suggested to my hubs that we should set up a family jigsaw for Christmas, do you know what he said? Quote “I don’t like solving artificial problems” LOL – and my son’s not interested either. Oh well, I’ve tried. Lovely sunset – we haven’t had those since the summer! Take care Margaret and hope to see you again next week! xx zsuzsa #29

  13. Very glad it was only the computer. I’ve been struggling today myself, and it is SO annoying. It does sound like you were super productive while offline. Wish I was. So much to do and time stretches only so far. Lovely to see you back!

    Happy WOYWW!

  14. It’s good to know you’re ok my friend. Sorry to hear about the problems you’ve been having with your computer…the idea of a new one for Christmas sounds wonderful. It certainly looks like you’ve been making good use of your time….we are in full jigsaw making mode too. We are doing 1000 piece Wasgijs that are totally different to the pictures on the boxes….quite a challenge but we’re having fun with them.

  15. Well, you’ve certainly been busy, Margaret! I am glad you were able to find inspiration for your Bible project which sounds fascinating. So sorry you’ve been having such problems with your elderly computer and hope that your Christmas present to yourself comes up to expectations! Everyone needs a Kevin in their lives at one time or another. I had a literal Kevin in our Plymouth days – it was really his dad John who was the engineer and Kevin did mostly sales, but when his dad retired, he took over the whole business. They were utterly brilliant in my early days when I didn’t know one end of a computer from the other. They sold about 8 computers because of me – I kept recommending people because their after sales service was so outstanding. Anyway, I’m glad the old lady is behaving herself at least for a while. Your jigsaws look incredibly ambitious to me (I’m hopeless at them) and as for that sky – it looks on fire! Amazing.

Thank you for visiting, and I’m glad you approve of the final needle book! We were told the new furniture could arrive between 7 and 10 a..m. so I was up at crack of dawn (middle of the night for me, I’m afraid!) and it came at about 9.45. We are very happy with it and the room looks less cluttered now.

    Happy WOYWW and God bless,

  16. So good to see you back Margaret. You were missed. ? I’ve got a live in Kevin, called Simon. Today he’s been trying to sort out wi-fi out. There’s nothing wrong with it except he thinks it could be faster. It’s funny watching him dash around the house pressing buttons within 3 minutes. Never a dull moment with a tech nerd who loves cables.?
So pleased you’ve got advent sorted. You sound like a useful church member to have around too?

  17. Fabulous jigsaws and photo. I was thinking of you when I went to Llandudno, I would have suggest meeting up, buy I thought not with Covid. We did pop to the shops for a quick visit to the craft shop and lunch in the cafe opposite. The COVID threat seems to getting closer. We didn’t know anybody who had had it before, but the vicar has come down with it and our friends in Basingstoke have it at the moment. We don’t know what to do about Christmas. A belated happy WOYWW Angela #25

  18. Wow! what a glorious sky Margaret, beautiful photo. Your desk looks very studious and business like this week. Definitely treat yourself to a shiny new PC, you deserve it! Have a great week. Annie C

  19. Wow! What a beautiful sunset! That seems to be a thing lately, beautiful sunsets. So sorry about your computer. Just to make you feel better, my laptop runs on Vista…still working! But I can’t download Zoom on it so I will have to use my iPad for the meeting. Oh well. You have been very busy with those puzzles, we are still working on the one we started last Christmas…Thanks for your visit, stay safe and have a great week! Lindart #30
