WOYWW520 – A GIANT Celebration!

Congratulations to everyone – and especially to Julia for thinking up this wonderful idea – on our 10th Anniversary! 10 years of showing our workspace to the world – in all its tidy, or untidy, glory! Thank you, Julia, for having the idea all those years ago – and thank you everyone for bearing with my witterings and coming to visit, making lovely comments.  I think I have been looking at WOYWW since sometime in 2012 – before I had a site of my own. My first attempt to join in was to leave a comment on Patsy’s blog – and I won her draw – and received a lovely painting she had done. That fired my enthusiasm, and I soon had my own site – gone now, since I changed server – and have been fairly regular contributor since then. Didn’t make it to a crop until 2016, barely two months after John died, but enjoyed myself SO much meeting everyone, I couldn’t resist the challenge to host for the last two years. Annie and Jo’s turn this year – and can we believe it is only a week and a half to the crop??

So, my desk hasn’t any action for the past three and a half weeks, as I have been away.  I arrived home Sunday afternoon, but wasn’t in the house very long before this happened…

…I started in on Monday morning, busily trying to catch up with everything. So, what can we see? Drawers out all over the floor, paper poo which missed the waste bin, boxes of card, paper, confetti, peel-offs, inks.. A half drunk glass of ginger beer, a pile of cards ready for the hotel – they are getting desperate – specs, glue, scissors, and a chocolate bar wrapper. Sorry, but the chocolate bar had already been eaten! And I honestly did leave it neat and tidy when I went away!

I confess to having had a glorious time away – Chris and Adrian’s Golden wedding anniversary, a time in Cambridgeshire and Norfolk, then a meet up with my college friends in Derbyshire. The caravan is now nicely tucked up in storage until I go away again (ssshh! – the week after the crop!) Some asked to see pictures from my summer – so just a flavour…

So there you have it, folks. It feels really odd living in a house again after all that time in the van, but I expect I shall get used to it. I’m not taking part in the ATC pass-on – I haven’t even started on my things for the crop yet, so thought I should concentrate on those first.

Happy anniversary to everyone. Take care. God bless.

Margaret

  1. Welcome home Margaret, glad you had such a good trip. Look forward to hearing all about it! I feel I should offer to sleep in the van when i stay, in case you don’t want me shouting at my radio for the footie (Champions League final is 1st June and I might have to be anti-social enough to listen to my beloved Liverpool through my headphones!! ) See you soon! I don’t know if I could be in a van for long… I’m so NOT a camper… I prefer my a house, a roof, a kitchen, a comfy chair and my bed 😉 Enjoy your day! Hugs and kisses from the Netherlands. Marit #17

  10. Hi Margaret! It sounds like you’re a lady of leisure – but a very busy one at that – travelling around the country. I must confess, I would miss my mod cons living in a caravan, but I know it has its charms as well. Perhaps if you have the caravan all to yourself it’s easier to live in a confined space – and of course you have lovely scenery surrounding you and total freedom to move around! Happy anniversary! zsuzsa #26

  27. Glad you had such a nice time away, Margaret, and what a lovely card. That cake is totally amazing! Thank you for your visit, and I’m sorry you were having problems connecting. Thank you for your congratulations on our various celebrations. We mustn’t forget Lily and Ruby’s birthday tomorrow as well! Lol! I know about how you’ve got to be really specific on the PIP application form so there’s no doubt. There’s loads of repetition too. I got my GP letter today and am waiting for one from the stoma nurse which should come next week. The whole thing is a stress-inducing nightmare but my hubby is being so brilliant and supportive and says we should go for the power chair now to give me a treat, and sell stuff to pay for it later!! We shall see. Maybe I’ll get it sooner than we expected.

    Happy 10th anniversary WOYWW,
    Shoshi #15

  30. Hi Margaret, Glad you had a nice time away. I have been to Thursford, but when I was a kid and it wasn’t the super duper place it is now.

Didn’t know you were coming to Norfolk. We might have been able to meet up for a coffee and something scrummy.

I love ginger beer, but it burns my mouth and gives me heartburn.

Thanks for stopping by my blog.

    Happy 10th Anniversary WOYWW

  31. Gosh, I forgot about the Golden Wedding, so sad about that. Glad you enjoyed it and all had a great time.
Love your holiday photos and will miss Llandudno (although it is about people and not the place isn’t it) this year but am sure our new venue will be great! Nothing to stop us coming down Wales another time – it’s just this back that is holding us back from doing anything. Five and a half months and not been out apart from twice (the last two weeks I managed a short trip each Saturday) other than hospital and doctors. Hope it will be better this coming weekend.
    Hugs, Neet xx

  32. Lovely to see that you had a great time at the golden wedding celebration. The cake picture is amazing. thanks for stopping by and leaving lovely comments.

  33. Hi Margaret! Looks as if you had a fab trip! I love traveling but I always look forward to getting home to my own routine. I will be making short trips with the grandgirls but we have plenty to do here. I remember you winning that painting from Patsy! Does’t seem that long ago. Creative Blessings! Kelly #35
