Hello my friends. Not a lot going on here at the moment – motivation gone missing! Maybe I can blame the weather?? Too hot for me, I’m afraid – sorry all you folk who just love the sun and the heat, I can’t cope.
I’ve pottered around making a few Christmas cards, then today (Tuesday) I’ve made a golden wedding anniversary card, and begun a commissioned wedding card. The photo of my desk today looks a bit staged ‘cos I’m waiting for inspiration to strike and for the water colours to dry…
Like I say – not a lot of action here. The gold card is for the wedding anniversary of two dear friends who rang up Monday out of the blue and announced they are in the area for three days this week, and where shall we meet? Welsh Highland Railway is the final choice! It will be a great day going through fantastic scenery – let’s hope the air quality is good in the mountains so we see the tops! The two coloured images are for the wedding card. They are Brambly hedge stamps – gorgeous cute mice! Just need to get the CD out and hunt a few backing papers.
So that’s me really – wondering about summer holidays and the crop in September – wondering how many are going to come – wondering if I’ll have a good drive up to Oban to meet my family for our holiday in August on Mull. As you can tell – not really concentrating on the present – just dreaming about the future!!
Well, short and, hopefully, sweet this week. Take care everyone. I’ll be visiting over a couple of days as I am shopping for step inside this week. God bless.
Margaret

Hi Margaret, Sorry I’m so late but this week has been a particularly busy one. How nice for you to get that surprise call – I hope the trip on the railway went well and the air quality was as good as hoped for. Sounds like you have fabulous summer ahead with plenty to dream about. You can count DH and me in for September that’s for sure – accommodation booked already! Hugs, Elizabeth x #32

Such magical words – Welsh Highland Railway, Oban, and Mull. I could write a book with that alone! I’m sure you’ll have a fun time! The cards look great. Ugh, Christmas cards already? I guess I need to start thinking about that. Have a good week! Suzanne #41

It’s too hot outdoors for me too – Ben had me playing tag in the garden until I completely ran out of steam – it’s a scorcher today! I shall be chilling with a cool drink and footie match on tv this evening!

I’m with you Margaret, I don’t like the heat. I’m looking forward to the show at the NEC this weekend though I could do without buying anything new though I am sure I will see something I need!Loving the gold card, very stylish. Wishing you a happy woyww, Angela x13x

I think I’m suffering with the heat like you this week but thankfully my sewing just needs me to switch onto automatic and do what I do and requires little inspiration but I am really glad I’ve got floor fans on in the rooms I’m using today. I’m really not complaining but a couple of degrees lower would suit my energy levels better. Big hugs, Annie x #14

I can understand your lack of motivation – I seem to be there as well, as my desk shows. My desk used to be so busy, so full of stuff. . .oh well, hopefully it will back to “normal” soon! I hope you get your mojo back soon as well. Sounds like your summer will be lots of fun! Have a great week, Lindart #38

As much as I love Christmas, it’s much to hot in SW Texas for me to be inspired to make Christmas cards, so I admire your ability. Congratulations on your commission for wedding cards. Stay cool and Blessings on this WOYWW!

The gold card is a stunner – that gold on gold look is so classy and elegant – I love it. And the mice are so adorable too – I must investigate those stamps, I have a friend mad keen on Brambly hedge so I’m wondering if they do non-wedding ones too. Hope you have a great week, Diana x #17

I agree crafting in the heat is no fun, it’s 29c here! Love the images they are so cute, my problem is I’m not very good at colouring. The gold card is very elegant, I’m sure your friends will love it

Ha how funny you’re all decrying the heat and here I am sitting on top of the heater, mind you with good reason, today was one of our rare non sunny days .. showers of little output and much cloud.. we could’ve done with good drop or two. Sounds like a few coming to crop, which is really grand and no doubt the heat is affecting some thinking of it at the moment.. love the 50th esp the gold on gold effect, I wouldn’t have thought of that.. and needed images what’s not to love!! Prayers hugs dear sis, Shaz in Oz. Ps and travel safely do. Will keep in touch. Are you on FB?

Hi Margaret, well you can count us as definites for the crop. Already booked in at the Premier Inn! Love the cards, the gold one is stunning, and the mice are always so sweet, I think. Totally agree that it’s too hot for doing almost anything at the moment. We are just not used to this. I’m waiting for inspiration to strike with those baubles too. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #7 XxX

Lovely anniversary card and a good start on the wedding card, Margaret! Not great weather for Christmas inspiration, is it? I’m not a big fan of the heat either – I can only cope with it if I can stay at home in a flimsy dress and near the fridge for ice cubes and cold drinks! Lucky I’m in between jobs at the moment so I can do that! Perhaps it’s a bit cooler today. Have a lovely week and try to stay cool! zsuzsa #23

I can’t say I’m very productive, but I do love this heat! Curtains and blinds closed with windows open make it gloomy but the cool is a trade off – there is a nice breeze this morning again, it died off yesterday though. We’ll see. I find pagemaps.com (which has Card Maps on it) and Pinterest are good for inspiration..often it’s not what I put on the card, it’s the way to mat/layer it that forces me to seek help, otherwise I’d do the same thing each time. Which is what I felt a bit with the ‘how many cards’ thing…lots of matting of different shape pieces of paper! I know what you mean about all the looking forward to that youre doing, but I find it’s usually while I’m busy doing something else, so I don’t feel as if I’m wishing my life away!!

Good Morning Margaret, the weather effects us all no matter what it’s conditions and I am surprised you have found time to create at all with all those wonderful things to look forward to. Family time is so precious, everything takes a back seat for me when I get those opportunities. Enjoy! Creative wishes for the week ahead Tracey #4

The railway trip sounds perfect, especially for this weather. I love the sun but cannot stand it as hot as thi so seek the shade all the time. Love the day dreaming – some lovely things to think about and I will be at the crop, all booked, and turned down a worksop in favour of it Love your “meeses”. Hugs, Neet 9 xx

Hi Margaret, Eva and I will definitely be at the crop! It is rather too hot to craft in the middle of the day. It was 30 degrees in the shed yesterday and that was having had the door and windows open since 6am. Cute mice for the wedding card. Happy WOYWW. Sarah #5

I can’t stand this intense heat either, and it doesn’t make for productive working in a non-air conditioned office; at all! I won’t be able to organise trains etc to come to the crop I am afraid. Love the golden wedding card. Hope you have a great catch up with your friends. Helen #2
