Hello my friends. MIA last week – suddenly there it was 11pm and…. well, you can guess the rest – just too tired to write, edit, post. Sorry folks! However, having survived yet another wintry spell here in Britain, when the temperature on the North Wales coast was around -10 with the wind chill factor, today (Tuesday), I was out with a short sleeved top and no coat, cloudless blue skies and the sun shining!!! When we step out of the door we have to be prepared for anything at the moment. So, a few photos, including my current work desk, which show my life in the last couple of weeks…

I woke Sunday morning to find a white world – not unusual, you may think, but I live by the sea – so the temperatures rarely go down to snow!! However…

On the way to church – there was snow on the beach. Couldn’t resist having the camera out and seeing what I could see… the answer was – not a lot! It was blowing a hooley and blizzarding at the time. I had only seen snow on the beach once before… so… just for you – another one!

The land trying to appear through the murk is the Great Orme in Llandudno – usually bright and clear – but not on Sunday! So, what to do when it’s that cold? You snuggle up warm, turn up the heating and…

…. crochet together the very last of those double knitting squarish squares. Yes, 17 bin bags full have now all been put together over the past few years (no, not all by me!) to make blankets for the children in Uganda. Finishing this blanket gave me an enormous sense of thrill for those children….

…. you make a special card for a really faithful customer at Step Inside who has had a hip replacement, then you get everyone to sign it for her…

…. you make a load more cards for the hotel because they have already sold 10% of the stock you gave them – and then take the most appalling photographs of them…

… and you continue to use Pollyanna Pickering’s images because they are so popular with the guests! When I went to the Manchester show in February I spoke with Circa Designs as to whether they had a stamp of this Serenity Prayer. The only ones I could find on the internet were American – so were more difficult to order. The lady there on the stall asked me to do some research, let her have it, and she would see what she could come up with. Ta-da!!! It’s just lovely, and now readily available on their website. Sorry – a bit of advertising there – but what a beautiful advert for a company who goes the extra mile for its customers.

So, as you can see, through the past couple of weeks I have been working all over the house – upstairs and down. And today?

…It’s the turn of the dining table. I’m back making bags… Remember the 110 I cut out?… well, I thought I would make a few myself. No, I promise not to make them all. I have actually given out 30 already to be made by others, Jan(LLJ) has made some, and yesterday I had an offer from another church to make some. Brilliant! Soon have them all ready to go out to Uganda. So far I have managed a grand total of 2!

So, that’s me this fine day. I trust all is well with you wherever you are in this glorious, but oh so sad, world.

Take care. God bless.

Margaret

Wow, busy busy Margaret! Love the bright blanket, and what amazing photos of snow on the beach. We didn’t venture as far as the sea to see if there was snow on the beach but just stayed indoors and hoped it would go soon! Thank you for your visit and your good wishes for next week. Just to let you know the Big Reveal has happened and is now on my blog. Happy belated WOYWW, Shoshi #24

Good morning, Margaret. My, you have been busy. I’d never thought of crocheting those knit squares together! Genius you are. I’d never heard of snow on the beach but you sure make me want to visit you in all that fabulous scenery you share year round. Thanks for the visit. I replied to your comment. You have been busy. Snow on the beach is just so strange, isn’t it? I remember it many years ago when I lived on the Devon coast and my daughter had the same experience in Cornwall a few weeks ago. Good luck getting all those bags sewn. Fiona #36

Hi Margaret, another lovely post – I so enjoyed reading about all that you have been up to during the latest cold snap. I’ve yet to see snow on our beach because, like you say, it so rarely lies by the sea. Nevertheless, it has been incredibly cold and has prevented me from getting out into the garden yet. Two beautiful cards – I love the photo of the unfurling fern fronds. Have a wonderful week. Hugs, Elizabeth x #28

Hi Margaret, The blanket is lovely and colourful. Cards are fab. Hope you get the bags made up that you need. We had snow on the beach as well. Someone said the very edge of the sea was ice crystals. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Happy WOYWW Sue #14

WOW! Margaret you have been super busy this week for sure! I need to start crocheting or knitting something with all the yarn I have sitting around. My arthritis doesn’t want o cooperate for the most part tho! Love the snow on the beach. My DD took a road trip to Northern California and took a ton of picture of sea glass…didn’t know it existed. Have a great week. Thanks for visiting my desk earlier! Vickie #6

Hi Margaret, oh boy what a busy week you have had. I think its nearly the same here on the coast it hardly ever snows at sea level so its always an adventure for people who live there when it happens. 🙂 I had to smile about the card photo description. I have been there and done that many times ~Stacy #31

The snow is beautiful, makes the beach look so different! But cold, absolutely. We’re supposed to get to 90*F tomorrow. Way too warm for this time of year. Glad your cards are selling, where mine are they seem to be walking out without getting paid for. Bummer. Glad you’re getting help with the bags! Thanks for stopping by and have a great week! Great photos Margaret bot it certainly looks cold. It’s really unusual to get snow on the beach so it was great you had your camera with you. One good thing to come out of the cold is it makes us stay inside and craft isn’t it. You’ve certainly been busy, there are some lovely makes going on. Thank you for your visit earlier Hugs Lisax #22

It’s so lovely to see you keeping busy and you’re keeping well and happy. The snow on the beach looks amazing but I’m rather pleased to see the sunshine today and my little daffodils have got their heads back up enjoying it too. Hope you have a great week. Hugs, Annie x

Hi Margaret, what fabulous customer service from Circa Designs! Always good to hear these things- helps to inform us as to who deserves our custom! I’m sure that will prove to be a very popular stamp for them,as there are so many occasions when it will be suitable. Your snow on the beach must look very surreal. Some beautiful cards as always, Margaret, love the images you choose. Have a lovely week, Hugs, Shaz #5 XxX

Every surface in your house is busy with stuff you’re doing. Thrilled the cards are doing so well at the hotel. Had to laugh at your ‘appalling photography’ comment…I’m rubbish at it, and am often frustrated by poor light,..that’s all it is, apparently!!!! The beach with snow..I’ve lived in hot and cold and not seen it like that, gah it was cold. Stay safe missus..the thought of you tramping around in minus10 winds makes me a bit queasy.

Snow on the beach is just so bizarre! I’m glad you had a productive time making the most of being indoors – how fantastic that your cards are selling so well at the hotel! I took my box of cards to the WI Committee meeting and two of yours sold there too! You have such patience to wrangle all those differently sized squares into submission and end up with a beautiful crazy paving type blanket. Sending big hugs to you Margaret, LLJ 11 xxxx

Happy WOYWW. Yes, we saw that North Wales had worse weather than us. Snow on the beach! Not seen that before. Really hoping that Spring is properly with us now. I had washing out on the line yesterday, so there is hope! Well done for getting that blanket finished. I am keeping to small yarn projects for now, as I am so slow and get bored easily. I have ordered a little chick crochet kit from Create & Craft. It comes with the hook/needle/stuffing/yarn/pattern, so I can just sit down and hopefully tackle it ok. I think that perhaps a knitting/crochet session at Jan’s is needed some time. Ali x #13

Hi Margaret, busy, busy, busy as always. If you are after a different layout of the Serenity Prayer as a stamp, then Claritystamp also do one (as seen on the canvas that you have of mine). They also do a more tongue in cheek version for birthday cards – the Senility Prayer – which makes for a good insert stamp. Good luck getting the rest of the bags finished and congratulations on the blankets. Sarah #12

Your house sounds a little like mine – each work space available a different project. Glad I live on my own and my space is my space. Good you are getting more people on board for bag making I find if you ask people will say yes but not offer their services. Hope your snow clears and you experience warmer weather for Easter. Ani x

What a wonderful sight it must have been to see snow on the beach in Llandudno. Not that it is nice to have snow where you are but how exciting to see something like that – hard to imagine until you see it. It made me feel chilly looking at those photos of the beach so it was lovely to scroll down and see the lovely knitted blanket,, all cheery and warm and cosy looking – well done you. That is lovely of another church to join in with your bag making – hope you get lots and lots (I would but am not that good at sewing). Hugs, Neet 2 xx
