Hello my friends. I trust all is well with you. Firstly, thank you so much to all who visited and left comments last week. I read them all, greatly enjoying the humour so many of you included! Secondly, I did visit everyone, but there were about three I couldn’t leave a comment on – I’m so sorry. Some google plus folk I can comment, some I can’t – the comments box comes up differently, and doesn’t allow me to comment unless I sign up for google plus. So, if you didn’t get a comment from me last week, that’s why… 🙁 sorry

So, here we are in the second week of January already. Today (I’m writing this on Tuesday evening) is the birthday of my elder son in law, and Saturday is my elder grandson’s birthday. Busy time for cards, presents and birthdays around now, as in another fortnight, grand-daughter number two has her birthday!!

But you aren’t here to listen to me wittering on… you are here to see my desk. Well, I did warn you last week – so those of a nervous disposition should look away now! Clicking on the picture will enable you to see it in all its gory chaos!

Taken from a different angle this week, as looking at it from the top really would make us all ill! Boxes out on the floor – there are two more just to the left out of shot – the desk is piled high with card blanks, scissors, glue, DST, off-cuts of paper and card, embossing powder and tray, tweezers, scalpel, essential bag od sweets – and at the right hand end…. tada!…. the reason for the chaos – a basket of cards ready for the hotel.

I struggle to do batch makes – but decided that this style of card sold really well last year, so would make 8 at the same time. Stencilled design, coloured with glittery 3D paste, mounted and sentiment added.

Bottom right and middle right are different. Just before Christmas I was in the local hospice charity shop. They had a large box of bags each filled with crafty goodness. Well – you can’t just walk out of the shop, now can you?? So, down on hands and knees, I went a-hunting. One bag, marked up at £4 had a book on book folding. Ah-ha – just what a daughter wanted, so I bought the bag. When I opened it I found two huge 3D spellbinder embossing folders! So, these are my first efforts. I trimmed the celtic one a little, as I wasn’t happy with my colouring at the point there. Coloured with waxes, I’m reasonably pleased with my first attempts.

So, basically that is me. Also on the desk, but behind the basket of cards, is the pile of songs for Sunday – yes, I’m leading the worship again this coming week. Did my prep this morning before getting sticky and gluey!

Take care, my friends.

God bless you.

I love that last Celtic card – so strong and masculine! You do so well with making all your cards, it must be very gratifying that people buy them and you have to make more! Your desk looks just perfect – ready for another creative storm! Have a great week, Lindart #31

Sorry I’m late! You did score well with the charity bag…I love the Celtic card, will be a really useful die! So glad you got the hotel cards done, well done. Didn’t want them to become a looming issue when it’s so nice to have such an outlet for your works. I like the angle for the desk shot…looks as though you were either lying on the landing floor or just coming over the top riser on the stairs?

Hi Lovely Lady – well, it came as no surprise to hear you were busy with family birthday cards because you are such a busy lady. I don’t know how you do all that you do – and I must say those cards for the hotel are GORJUSS! They are all so different too. Enjoy your Sunday when you lead the worship. I am sure you prepare really well so that it goes without a hitch. One day I will get down to one of your services. Blessings, Neet xx

Hello Margaret, I couldn’t set myself at making such large amounts of cards, I’m more of a journaling gal then a cardmaking, that is why I print cards from my work, I just need to find the right outlet for them, Happy WOYWW, Vicky

Thank you for your visit, Margaret, and for your good wishes for my hospital appointment tomorrow. Hopefully we’ll have some positive news. The printed service sheets are already on their way – fast work from the printers! I think we’ve hit the right note, and I am hoping that my little talk will raise a few laughs too – Mum used to come out with some real funnies at times lol! I have a lot to be thankful for from her, especially in my early childhood, and her love of music will feature a lot as well. I think it’s going to be a special and lovely occasion. God bless, Shoshi x

What a charity shop find, Margaret. I bet you were really chuffed. Love all your cards. I find batch making works really well for cards that sell well, just changing the colours along the way. I’m not surprised these flew. Good Luck with the new batch. Thank you for your lovely comments. Hugs Lisax #16

Hi Margaret, well, your room is never as messy as mine is at the moment – in fact, it’s positively gleaming in comparison. Of course, I can’t see the top of your desk so I’ll just have to take your word for that. Your cards are beautiful – glad to hear they are so popular. And what a wonderful find! I wouldn’t have been able to walk out of the shop either. Good luck for Sunday. Hugs, Elizabeth x #25

Wow Margaret you have been busy this week. What a lovely batch of cards you’ve made and each one so different and pretty….I’m sure they will sell well. The tulle skirt was made from the pattern….it’s the pink one in the middle of the picture but I was surprised to see how I had to make it. I’ve managed to run another row of narrow elastic below the knots on the waistline now and it’s tamed it….just hope it fits now

Hello dear Margaret. You are, as always so busy , I don’t know how you do it all! I have been taking it easy really. Not felt brilliant since end of the Festive Season. managed one card so far and found it a struggle to come up with. Have managed to get to grips with sorting out and got Christmas decorations properly away now. Yay. Your cards are gorgeous – no wonder more have been requested. Have a lovely week. Anne x #14

And what a find in the charity shop, what a clever idea of their’s, making those sacks – a quick way to get rid of some stock. Hugs LLJ 8 xxx

What super cards. I do believe I did one of those very stencils with 3D glitter paste as a craft club a while back, still have it in my card box, love it so. So what songs have you chosen for worship then, I missed church last week as we took son back to Uni and “things” were too difficult for me to attend in the evening. Happy New Year BJ#10

Hi Margaret, what a great collection of cards, and so beautifully displayed! I love the different angle view of your desk this week. Perhaps I should start doing this, photographing my desk from underneath, to disguise the fact that there’s nothing new on it, lol! Happy WOYWW, Shoshi #9

Happy WOYWW. Your cards are truly glorious, no wonder the hotel ordered lots more. You put so much time and effort into each one. The charity shop bag sounds wonderful. I also seem to have a lot of stash in boxes on the floor – all organised and I know where it all is. I have decluttered a lot, but yet again there is still plenty I never use, so that will be going to charity soon. Ali x #7

Morning Margaret, Your desk is a typical crafters desk works in progress. Hey I like your storage files left hand side, better than mine with the weight of card they have collapsed to the floor. Like lots of my craft supplies must have to much. Have a good week. Ann

Morning! Your desk doesn’t look too bad to me! It’s all standards isn’t it! I love your display of the cards – what amazing productivity. My favourite that really grabbed my eye was the one with the ‘live, love laugh’ stencil (love that stencil) Have a good week. Helen #2
