Hello my friends. I can’t quite get my head around the fact that yet another week has passed, and we are almost at the end of January already! Surely there must be a missing day somewhere – it has come around too fast!. However – here we are at yet another WOYWW – so – without further ado – my desk…
Two shots this week to show the appalling state after a manic card-making session this morning (Tuesday). I then had a mass clear up in order to photograph the cards I had made.
So, looking this way we see the picture frames I have managed to source, some cards already bagged for the hotel, piles of stamps, dies, scrap cards (I didn’t like what had been produced), inks, and some cards standing up drying. They are the Easter cards I was working on this morning.
And looking this way, we see a drawer out of the unit, open on the floor, those two naughty crazy coloured bird pens eyeing one another up – presumably they are quite territorial??!! There are the brushes for inking some of the cards, an empty tea mug, specs, and a full waste bin. What chaos ensued!
However, the chaos was worth it – the results were quite prolific. Just a small montage of some of them…
Firstly I printed off some Faye Whitaker images and made those up; then tried out a new die – it cuts really well, but I need to remember to put some baking parchment between the die and the card or paper; then I tried out a few Easter ideas – making 4 or 5 of each design. Lunch and shopping called after that mammoth session….
That’s me, folks. Thank you SO much for all your visits last week. Yes, I had a great time celebrating John in the Lake District – lots of laughter as my friend and I remembered some of the crazy things John and I did together, a few tears, but a very positive experience. A grey day weatherwise, but a beautifully happy day on the whole. No good trying to show you photos – nothing spectacular at all!

Oh well done Margaret, a good few really great cards! It’s a bit of a pressure when you get going, so am not surprised that you experienced the ‘not good enough’ thing for a split second. Love the sight of your space all busy and yet, organised..a space for the finisheds, the bagged up, the frames…see method in our madness! Glad to hear that you had a great day in the Lakes. xx

My goodness, Margaret, you have been busy! Lots of lovely cards and a nice desk buzzing with activity! I am so glad you had a good time in the Lakes and shared some very positive memories of John – that is a real tonic to the soul. Thank you for your lovely comment – I am still feeling very tired and battling with the old enemy of guilt (“stop being so lazy and get on with something” lol”) – after 10 years of this I should know better by now! It’s just that I’ve been so much better recently… Anyway, at least I can do my embroidery and art on the iPad when I’m not up to being in the studio, so I shouldn’t complain! So glad you enjoyed your day over the border. Nothing like laughter and tears to make it worthwhile spending time with a friend. Have spent far too long looking at your craft room pictures. What a gorgeous room you have and so organised. It looks massive and seems to have lots of counter space that you can fill up with items or crafting. Hi Margaret, blimey you have been busy! Love the frames you have found, I was looking for smaller ones, lol. Dies and shimming- what a nightmare that can be. Some of them drive me quite crazy. Hi Margaret. well what lovely collection of cards well done on your clean up oh that my room looked more like it..like your Easter cards, did notice them before i read the post. Wow someone has been busy, love the card in the bottom left hand corner and all the others too. Also laugh at my desk when having a mamouth session sometimes I think is this a card making desk or the bathroom – talc, shaving foam (not mine I might add) make up brushes etc you get the picture. Glad the Lake District went down well remember my daughter taking me to Blackpool on the 1st anniversary of my husband’s death yes Blackpool but it went down well as we had so many memories of the place.
