Hello my dear friends. I’ve been a bit hither and thither recently, but the brain and the body are just about beginning to function in the same planet again!

My desk is not worthy of a photograph this week as I have just emptied it in the hope (possibly vain!) that I might get around to some creativity – so, instead, something FAR more look-at-able… the beautiful cards you made for myself and my family. Thank you.

I also received the cutest little ATC with a card and gift from Kelly…

My fingers haven’t been idle though, despite doing nothing at all on my desk apart from officialdom. Mrs D was having a grand sort out, and handed me some glorious wools to help with making blankets for Uganda. So…

and…

His name is Mr Jolly Jingle – and isn’t he just gorgeous. John and I started him last year to go beneath our Christmas tree, then changed our minds and decided to give him away… So, I have finished him, and I love him. Those Christmas puddings on his shoes really are something else!! He is a Jean Greenhowe pattern, and over the years we have knitted many of them. Each one has delighted us – and no, we still don’t have one of our own! Maybe by next year.

Well, that’s me done this week, folks.

Take care. God bless you.

Margaret

Aww – thanks for stopping by this week, Margaret! Mr Jolly Jingle is just adorable. My mum taught me to knit when I was just a wee lass and I learned by making pullovers for my Sindy doll. I must have been one of the few 9 year olds who was competent at cabling! Still love doing it today… I will have to dig out a pattern for Mr Jolly Jingle and have my own go at him… Sending you love and light from our house, and strength for the days to come. xxx Morti @ 40

Hi Margaret Just to let you know I am thinking of you at this time. I heard your sad news but I hardly know what to say. It must be very difficult to find yourself alone after so many wonderful years together. But I think you must have some lovely memories which I imagine will eventually become happy thoughts. Thank you for taking the time to visit me too. Much appreciated. Sending hugs and best wishes. Take care. RosA

Ooh are you in desk tidying mode, we’ve nothing to do on Saturday morning, I’m sure I could allow you to exercise your mode on my very untidy desk. Or maybe you will be playing with purchases from your trip to Anglesey!

Thanks for your visit earlier – the papers are printouts ready to make cards, very bright and cheerful. I love Mr Jingle – I have a scarecrow. Does Mr Jingle have lots of pockets with little surprises inside? Have a good week Christine aka Bishopsmate #20

I love love love that I’m not the only crafter with crafting ADHD. I’m always moving between fiber stuff (spinning, weaving, knitting, crochet), painting, drawing, and paper arts. 🙂 Your Mr. Jolly Jingle is something else! I can’t stop smiling when I look at him. Have a great week! Heather (waywardgypsy) #50? #51?

So glad you are feeling like doing some stuff again Margaret. I’ve been thinking about you and wondering how you were getting on. Such a tough time, and so much to see to and deal with when it’s the last thing you feel like doing… I am glad that you have received some nice cards from your many friends. Shoshi #41

Oh I have that pattern! I unearthed it when unpacking boxes of books! Never did make him for one of the kids although I always planned too. Love the granny square too. A few people I know are very into the corner-to-corner crochet but I haven’t tried it yet. Nice to be back as I have been MIA pretty much since the house purchase and move, but giving it a go this week and hoping for the best! hugs and Happy WOYWW! Mary Anne (24)

Hi Margaret, what lovely cards you were sent, you are right, we have wonderful friends in the WOYWWers. You may have missed that the last scan showed a spot on one lung. They don’t know what it is, but obviously shouldn’t be there. So, I’m waiting to have a couple of lung function tests, then they will remove it. The surgeon we saw back in August said he’d have me in end of Sept.early Oct, but I haven’t even had the tests yet, so it’s a little annoying! Sending you much love, Hugs, Shaz #4 xxx

Hello Margaret. Have been thinking about you. Lovely cards you received – feel I should have sent you one ( and others this year but have no addresses) Beautiful blanket and My Jolly Jingles is amazing. I did use a Jean Greenhowe pattern to make my grandson a Bob the Builder. It took a long time and was very detailed. I’m sad to say I’ve not seen him around for a long time and I don’t like to ask what happened to him. Thank you for taking time to comment the last time I took part. Mum not too bad at the moment , but I feel it’s only a matter of time before the next incident. It is a difficult situation. take care. Anne x #23

Wow, I am full of admiration for the amount of patience you must have to make a toy as complex as that. He is wonderful!! But you should definitely keep him and not give him away, in my opinion. I don’t usually like clown things that much but he has a very friendly look about him! I have emailed you back about your request… Hugs, LLJ 10 xxxx

Well, I saw Mr Jolly Jingle but I did not hear the story behind him. Sorry if i was not operating on all cylinders when I called to see you last week. Is it really almost a full week since we met up again? We did go to the West Shore but didn’t manage to do the Alice Trail as I was not really up to it – maybe that is a reason for another day and a visit to a certain friend??? Maybe even a jacket potato? Thank you for everything – my treasures still have to be opened up and looked at properly – one bad back has been a bit too much in evidence to allow for any crafting, indeed much of anything. Sending love and Blessings Neet x
