My dear friends. Hello. What can I say but Thank you. Two such small words, but heartfelt.

Thank you for all your beautiful comments last week about John.

Thank you to those who have sent me cards.

Thank you for the support I have received this week.

Has anyone ever told you that you are great?

There is no desk shot this week, as I’m sure you really don’t want to see it!!! Covered – nay, littered, piled high – with forms. The DWP, the DLA, the Council, an A4 pad of notes (the ubiquitous “to-do” list), a list of photos of John to be emailed to the grandchildren as they are putting together a Power point presentation to be played before and after John’s celebration service …

The most creative thing I have done this week is a jigsaw – and I haven’t finished that yet, either!

However – a friend and I did decide to celebrate John by going together to the craft show we already had tickets for. We laughed, we cried, and had a great day. John loved these days out – so it just seemed fitting. I haven’t even had time to put away my purchases, a few gorgeous coloured inks, a couple of embossing powders, some glitter paste and stencils, and a lovely Pergamano pattern.

So, instead of a desk shot, I leave you this week with a picture which hangs on our dining room wall, which John did some years back in Scraperboard work. Using a nib the black inked card is scratched until the white of the card is revealed. He was SO creative.

Take care my friends. I’m sorry I didn’t manage to comment on everyone’s post last week – it all became a little too much.

God bless.

Margaret

My dear friends – hello. There is absolutely nothing on my workdesk this Wednesday – but I was determined to post. So many of you have faithfully prayed for, and asked after, my John. Sadly I need to tell you he died early Monday morning. He had been in hospital for two weeks on those antibiotics, and they had done their stuff. But he was just exhausted with the constant struggle to breathe, and simply died in his sleep there in Ysbyty Glan Clwyd. So, I trust you will excuse a little self indulgence…

Many of you have prayed for John as he has struggled over the past months and years. I thank you, and my daughters thank you for your care and concern.

Two of the proudest days of John’s life was when he led our daughters down the aisle to their lovely young men.

A lovely shot of us all at a friend’s wedding

I have known John for 47 years. He was, as his name suggests, a faithful man; he loved God with a passion, and he loved his family. Two daughters, two sons in law, and five grandchildren. I thank God for all the times we had together – the fun times, and the harder times. I’m thankful I was able to cope as he became more and more dependent on help from others. I loved him. I shall miss him.

I will endeavour to visit folk as energy and time present themselves – please excuse me if it takes a while! Life gets very busy at these times. I feel I am umbilically attached to the phone!!!
